The Aquatherm brand of panels offers high energy production and ability to cool the pool at night. For commercial pools, depending on the roof type, they can be roof racked and/or pitched
or mounted directly to the roof.
Each bank of panels is flow measured and controlled. Since the panels expand and contract with temperature, a sliding expansion coupling is used to protect the panels and allow for this movement.
Two temperature sensors are used in my systems. One for Pre-Solar operation and the other for "Maintained" Solar operation. Additionally, each sensor has a pre-installed backup sensor.
For "Drain-back", there is a check valve in between each bank to allow the second bank to drain-back into the first and then back into the pool.
Should the solar panels be full of water and not operating (Stand-by Mode), a pressure relief valve is used to prevent the panels and connections from bursting.
Dirt and debris buildup on the panels decreases their energy output. Hose bibbs are installed on the roof for easy cleaning of the panels.
